I'm glad that LEGENDARY won and kept the SHINE tag titles. I really like their style, and so I can see them wrestle on a regular base, not just on rare guest appearances.
Being a wrestling fan since about 1990, there was always Malia Hosaka - and there was always way too little of Malia Hosaka available to watch. Knowing "... all the marvels" before WWF, wrestling was never "a men's sport" for me. I had to buy VHS tapes from LPWA and UWF (because of the WWOW matches included) while not understanding why WWF and WCW had Sherri and Madusa for manager's duty only. So I first came across a skinny highflyer named Malia Hosaka.
ECW never brought Malia back after the two matches in 1993. (And neither did they bring in other serious female wrestlers like her, what's probably the reason that I never became a fan of this much-heralded pioneer promotion.) There were some matches in WCW between 1996 and 1998, which I really liked. But again, they never really used the potential of the women on the long run.
(Malia was also featured in Mike O'Hara's "New Wave Wrestling" - the greatest wrestling magazine ever, in my humble opinion - on a regular base.)
I completely gave up watching wrestling in the early 2000s. And when SHIMMER made me a fan again, by giving me everything I always missed in wrestling, who was still there? Malia Hosaka!
I knew the name Brandi Wine (though I think there have been two wrestlers of that name), but never had the chance to see her wrestle until I discovered MLW. I love her custom matches (and bought one myself) and so I'm always happy to see her in SHINE too.

Hey Duke of Bath Water......
Nice to read that you are a Malia Hosaka fan and that she
helped in getting you back into watching wrestling again....
As you know Malia is my bestest buddy and partner in crime in this crazy business called wrestling..... we have been friends for over 20 year...something VERY rare in this BIZ!
Brandi Wine was trained by Malia and has also been a good friend of mine for many years..... BTW... there is only one "Brandi Wine" all though when she first started in the biz, she wrestled as Brandi Collins.
You might have been thinking of Brandi Alexander, who was also a great female wrestler... she and Malia had some AWESOME matches back in the day!
Not sure if you are a member of the CASTLE.. which is a yahoo group that Malia and I run.... one of the few remaining active ones!! Feel free to join us there and you can actually ask Malia anything that you might like to know....

Cagematch says that Brandi debuted in 1994 as a valet and in August 1995 as a wrestler. But they also list USWA matches from 1991 and 1993 and one Canadian match from 1989. That's why I think there was someone else going by that name before.

Cagematch is not the bible.....
Don't BOlieve everything you read there!
Trust me... there is only ONE "Brandi Wine" and she did work for the USWA!
That being said..... back to your regularly scheduled programming.....
How's that Bath Water, Duke?
